Lyon

Bonjour all, I did not die from the French virus. Instead I left Paris for the weekend to visit Lyon, where my best French friend, Vanessa, lives!! This is the view of the city from her kitchen.
My first full day there I worked with Vanessa at the chocolate shop where she works. This place reminded me of Chocolat with Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp. I didn't actually sell pastries to costumers, but I got to help stock things!
And look very official behind the counter.
This is the basilique of Lyon which was built when the people were dying of a plague or something. It is soo beautiful inside!!!
Vanessa and I with Lyon behind us :) We have been planning my trip to Lyon for about a year now.

The satellite building on top of the hill... resembles the Eiffel Tower! They are proud of the tower though, which is good.
We walked around the old part of Lyon at night and heard a guy sitting on the streets playing "Wonderwall" by Oasis (if anyone doesn't know that song, don't worry, I just love that song). I saw this picture in a shop window though. LE PRESIDENT.

I love old streets. Very much so. Getting away to Lyon was exactly what I needed though: spending time with mon amie, getting away from chaos, and just resting away my sickness. Now I am eating my tortellini and unpacking, but I suppose I should study since I have a controle Thursday for Civilisation Francaise. I will put up more pictures from Lyon another time!! xoxox bisous
